GRAB YOUR SUPPLIES

– natural cotton cording – lid band (regular mouth not wide mouth) – fabric – hot glue – wood beads

Prep The Soda Can

Start by smashing your soda can to help create beautiful rustic details.

Use a razor knife to cut the can two thirds of the way down from the top. This will determine how big your bell is.

Clean the edge off with some scissors. I find the edges are pretty rough after just the razor knife.

Use some needle nose pliers to fold the edges down.

Here's how the edges should look.  It's not perfect but it ads rustic charm.  Once the paint goes on it'll look so good!

Here's how it looks after I spray painted it gold. To give it an antique effect. I sprayed on a bit of black onto a plastic bag and dabbed it on.

I made the bell clapper from the rest of the soda can and spray painted it to match as well.
