They do come out fairly easy. In fact overtime they kinda of started drooping while handing because the 2×4 dried out more making the cracks in between bigger. I have to put a slither of wood to get the shelf to sit up perfectly level. I’ve given up and left the wall with just the 2x4s as decor.

How did you know if was safe to cover the vent? Did you cap off the electrical outlet?

Thank you Dana the boards were 10.5 deep and I’m not sure what the screws were I’ll have to ask my husband.
